My name is Mr Paul 'Bad Boi' Deboinair.
I was born in London, UK and moved to Australia with my parents when
I turned 15
I started performing in the early 1970's, my first song in a duet with a good mate
of mine was 'Til I Kissed Ya' the Everley Brothers.. (that was the start of it all) and my first professional performance
was in 1975 at the Grand Hotel (women's bar) in Sydney, Australia. And my first solo performance was 'Tonites the Night'
a good old Rod Stewart song.. I performed there regularily for four years in an "All Female Revue". Whilst also in Sydney, I performed at the Drag Queen of the Year Ball (crowd of 10,000 yelling fans). I
also toured extensively throughout Australia and New Zealand for over 5 years, with the world famous "Les Girls". And helped
with the production of the famous Drag Movie "Priscilla Queen of the Desert". In 1997, I
travelled to Japan and performed numerous shows there.. unfortunately I don't write Japanese, so I am unable to write the
names of the clubs here.. I then moved to the USA, to Memphis and performed locally there
for over a year.. I proceeded to then take a 3 year sabbatical from performing.. my
first real break in over 20 years.. In 2001, I moved to Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Where I both lived and performed.. Today I have performed all over the East Coast of the
USA, and thoroughly enjoyed each and every show I did. I returned to Old Blighty (UK)
and I have perfomed at many venues ie: Birmingham Pride, Marlborough Pub, Rainbow Alliance in Hastings and the Assize Court
Pub in Bristol. I was able to produce and helped direction for the Drag King Christmas Extravaganza in Brighton December
2003. I was humbled to have Diane Torr (Drag King Ambasador to the World) appear in the show with us. I started a small
troupe in the UK, just two of us Gentleman Jaques and myself "The Bad Bois". I then travelled
off to Canada in January 2004. I graciously proposed to the woman of my dreams, she said yes and we were married in Niagara
Falls on 3rd February 2004.. I also performed at Cruise/Tango in Toronto with some
excellent Drag Kings, I also did a couple of shows at 'Buddies Bad Times' Theatre in 'Bois will be Boys'.. Again some outstanding
talent in Toronto.. I was extremely excited to be given the opportunity to perform at Toronto Pride in June 2004, An amazing
experience, and then to be involved in the first Drag King group to march in Toronto Pride.. That was truely awesome with
over 1.4 million people on the streets watching, an experience I shall never forget. My
wife and I now live in Amsterdam, and on 13th November 2004, I shall be making my first appearance in the Netherlands at the
'Lesbian Festival' this is one evening I cannot wait for.. I will be posting pics of that courtesy of my
wife as soon as possible after the event. This coming February will be my 31st
year as a Drag King and my 30th as a professional Drag King.. The Godess has been good to me and I cannot thank enough
all those that have helped me along the way to doing what I love the most being a Drag King and being who I am
ME!!!!
